Condolences

Condolence From: Lori Lewis
Condolence: I’ve always been pleased to see Lucille at activities in my 17 years in the Acton Woman’s Club. Our programs and meetings have many of us smiling. Often our smiles are gladness of seeing friends and our having a good time. But Lucille had the unusual and wonderful gift of being able to make me feel warm. She seemed to sense when I most needed her to spread her warmth & caring to me. I could just feel it, without words or touch; she produced quiet warmth for others. She was a treasure. I always sought her out when at meetings.
I talked to her quite a while when she lost her husband Oscar. Even when our conversations were brief I knew of her love and pride for her family – children and grandchildren. I hope all can smile and be comforted by good memories and knowing her smile as she watches with Oscar all your happiness, good deeds and accomplishments to come. As I write this I remember her smile & warmth & though tears roll down my cheeks at my loss – I am smiling with memories of Lucille, knowing she is welcomed into a new home.

Condolence From: On Behalf of the Acton Woman's Club
Condolence: Lucille Kress was an active woman in the Acton Woman’s Club for 35 years. People I talked to, along with my fond memories, say “She was such a nice person”; “a kind person”. Contributing much during her life with the Club and always doing her part. I’m sure if I went back through our records I’d find her participation in philanthropic activities. When she was one of our older members she still participated on luncheon committees to help, perhaps sitting to serve the coffee and tea to members – with her warm smile that always went from her heart to see the smile in her eyes. She will not be forgotten by the many women she touched and all her family should be proud of her work & support of her community.

Condolence: To my dear cousins, Katie, Virginia, Maryanne, Liz and Andrew. My heart and prayers go out to you. I am so sorry to hear of your Moms passing. I always enjoyed our family gatherings, seeing all of you, together with your Mom and Dad. I remember how comfortable it was to talk with Lucille. She had such an easy way about her and always a warm smile for me. I do wish I could be with you this weekend but I'm afraid it is not possible. The Freemyer family will make a donation to the JDRF foundation in memory of Lucille. God Bless her and all of you. Jim
