Obituary for Marguerite Paul (Robison)

Mrs. Marguerite (Robison) Paul passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, she was 89. Born in Dorchester to the late Alfred and Marguerite (Toner) Robison, where she resided until she married Alphonse J. Paul in 1950 and moved to Maynard. They shared 37 years of marriage before his passing in 1987.

Mrs. Paul was a homemaker and later worked as an executive secretary for 27 years with Digital Equipment Corporation. After her retirement, she spent the next 20 years working as a volunteer at Emerson Hospital in Concord where she was recognized for logging more than 4000 hours of service. She was an active parishioner at St. Bridget’s Church and served her parish as the choir director and organist of the children's choir, a cantor and a member of the church choir for many years. Marguerite was an accomplished pianist, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading and her book club, playing scrabble, traveling and needlework of all kinds including knitting, quilting and sewing.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Dolan and her husband Timothy; William Paul and his wife Elaine; Christine Fuerst and her husband James and Janine Lindstrom and her husband Robert; 5 grandchildren, Katie and Bobby Dolan, Brian and Kevin Fuerst and Andrew Paul. Besides her husband and parents, Marguerite was predeceased by a son James; her brother Alfred and her sister Joan.

Visiting Hours are Friday, April 7th from 4:00-8:00pm at Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rte 111) Acton. Her funeral Mass is Saturday, April 8th at 9:00am in St. Bridget’s Church, 1 Percival St., Maynard followed with burial in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Great Rd. (Rte 117) Maynard. Donations in memory of Marguerite may be made to Emerson Healthcare Foundation, 133 ORNAC, Concord, MA 01742.
