Obituary for Constance J. Quinn (Breslin)

Constance Jane Quinn 14 April 1923 – 15 March 2016

Constance Jane "Connie" Quinn was born 14 April 1923 in New York City. Connie married Lawrence W. "Larry" Quinn in 1943 and moved to Maynard MA in 1946. Connie’s parents, Fredrick and Charlotte Breslin of Woodside NY, and her brother Dr. Fredrick Breslin of Glassboro NJ are deceased as is her husband Larry who died in 1988. Connie is survived by her children, Joan Quinn of Worcester MA, Barbara and Sheldon Schuttenberg of Boulder CO, Susan and Wayne Allen of New Port Richey, FL, Lawrence and Cathy Quinn of Branson MO, Robert and Ann Quinn of Marlborough MA, Christopher and Linda Quinn of Salt Lake City UT, Brian and Denise Quinn of Wilbraham MA, Maribeth and Dr. Daniel Brown of Portsmouth NH and Terence and Joy Quinn of Woodbridge VA along with 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to being an extremely busy homemaker, Connie was the co-owner/founder of The Fabric Store and later worked in the Maynard Town Clerk’s office before retiring in 1987. Connie served the Maynard community in several capacities including the Maynard School Committee, Maynard Booster Club and St. Bridget Church Pastoral Council, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Legion of Mary, Rosary Guild, Rosary/Prayer Group, Religious Education teacher, RCIA sponsor and the bereavement support committee. Wherever she traveled Connie was on the lookout for her Maynard friends and not surprisingly she almost always found someone she knew even in the most distant and remote locations.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday, March 20th from 4:00-7:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 21st at 10:00am in St. Bridget's Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard, with burial following in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road (Rte 117 gate) Maynard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts may be made to one of Mrs. Quinn's favorite charities: St. Bridget's Parish, 1 Percival Street, Maynard, MA 01754; or to the following available online: Catholic Charities www.bostoncatholic.org, or Catholic Relief Services www.crs.org
