Denise C. Parkes, 63, of Clinton died at home suddenly on Monday April 27, 2020.
Denise was born at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA on July 22, 1956 to Richard and Evelyn Parkes. She graduated from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and went on to graduate from Rivier University in Nashua, NH. She worked as a nurse at Sisters of St. Chretienne in Marlborough, MA. Previously she worked in early childhood education. Prior to living in Clinton she lived in Boxborough, Acton and Littleton.
Denise’s life centered around her family and her church family. She attended and was a member at The United Church of Christ-Congregational of Boxborough for over 40 years. She was heavily involved in church activities for many years, serving as a deacon and in many other capacities. Denise was a very caring and giving person, showing a tremendous amount of empathy for others. There was no better example of this than her living with and caring for her mother Evelyn for many years.
Among her many loves were everything Red Sox, Christmas (for which she would start preparing in the summer), birthdays, Thanksgiving and children. Some of her happiest moments were when she gave gifts and presents to others, putting a smile on their face.
Denise is survived by her mother Evelyn Parkes of Clinton, her brother Richard Parkes and his partner Kathleen O’Connor of Milton, nephews Justin Parkes of Brighton and Ricky Parkes of Worcester, and several cousins including Gregory and Carolyn Baecthle of Summerville, SC. She is predeceased by her father Richard S. Parkes.
Burial is in South Cemetery, Boxborough, with services to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the United Church of Christ-Congregational of Boxborough, 723 Massachusetts Ave, Boxborough, MA 01719, would be much appreciated.
