Obituary for Erik A. Hartwell

Hartwell Erik Alden
It is with deep sorrow the family of Erik Alden Hartwell announces his unexpected passing after losing a long battle with addiction on Sunday, March 22, 2020, at the age of 31.

Erik grew up in Stow, MA surrounded by friends and family. He spent much of his childhood snowboarding, riding BMX and dirt biking through the woods around Lake Boon. After graduating Nashoba Regional High School in Bolton, MA he went on to work alongside his father and brother for the family construction business Hartwell and Sons. Due to his precise and meticulous nature with an eye for detail he possessed many other talents, including masonry building patios and stonewalls, landscaping, tiling, and woodworking. He will be remembered for his hard work and strong work ethic, his loyalty, sense of humor, and love for his family. He was most proud of his daughter, being an uncle to his nieces and nephew, and his beloved rescue cat “Puppa.”

He is survived by daughter Brooke, parents Scott and Marica (English) Hartwell, sister Jessica (Chase Cummings) and their children, Ethan, Amaya, and Luna, Brother Jason (Tiffany) and their children Evelyn and Penelope, Maternal Aunt Gail English, Cousin Neil Fredette and family, Paternal Grandmother Anita Dolan, late Maternal Grandmother Jean English, and several other cousins, relatives, and friends.

Due to the State of Emergency regulations on the number of people attending a public event, all services will be private at this time. A public celebration of Erik’s life will be held at a future date.
