Obituary for Linda S. (Cohoon) Stokes

STOW: Linda S. Stokes, age 70, of Stow, MA passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Linda was the beloved wife of 48 years of Robert J. Stokes.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Frederick K. and Miriam (Wintters) Cohoon. Linda was raised and educated in the Philadelphia area and received a bachelor's degree from West Chester University and a master's degree in mathematics from Indiana University.
Linda worked several years as a mathematics teacher at Notre Dame Academy in Worcester before retiring to raise her children. A longtime resident of Stow, she served on the Finance Committee, the Stow Historical Society, StowTV, and especially the Stow Minutemen.
She was fond of cooking, but her favorite activities were playing tennis, editing videos for StowTV, reenacting with the Minutemen, and planning wonderful vacations for herself and her husband all around the US, Canada, and even Scotland. Last year she completed her goal of visiting all 50 states.
Linda is survived by her husband Robert J. Stokes of Stow, MA; and her children, Michael E. Stokes of Oakland, CA and Jeffrey P. Stokes of Stow, MA. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Robert Cohoon of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family to remember Linda and celebrate her life on Sunday, January 19th from 1-4pm at the Community Center in Stow.
