Obituary for Karen Lynn Logan

Karen Lynn Logan, 61, a resident of Spencer, MA, died Sunday December 22, 2019 at the Marlborough Hospital, Marlborough, MA.

Born in Hornell, New York, Karen grew up in Horseheads, New York, the daughter of Barbara L. (Hern) Roll of Summerfield, FL and the late Paul S. Logan. A graduate of Horseheads High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Elmira College and a master’s degree in speech and hearing from Ithaca College. She was employed by Easter Seals for a time, and especially loved her work as a speech pathologist, improving the lives of the many people she met in practices in Gainsville, Florida and Greenfield, New Hampshire. She met her companion, Kenny Rediker, about 20 years ago. Together they established, owned and operated Sharky’s Wine and Spirits in Winchendon. The couple enjoyed whale watch trips, walking the beaches of Maine and Cape Cod and time spent with family. Karen will be deeply missed by all those who know and love her.

In addition to her companion Kenny and her mother Barbara, Karen is survived by three siblings, Kevin Logan and his wife Karen of New Hampshire, Michelle Logan of New York and Kelly Logan and his wife Claire of FL; a niece Katie and a nephew Cory.

Interment will be private. Karen loved animals, especially her beloved cats who were part of her household since childhood. With this in mind, the family suggests contributions may be made in Karen's memory to the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929, also online at ASPCA.org. Memorial page actonfuneralhome.com
