Obituary for Thomas C. Kohls

Thomas Carl Kohls, 62, of Acton, MA died with his family by his side on November 25, 2019. He is the son of the late Vincent and Eda Kohls of Fort Jennings, Ohio.

Tom is survived by his wife, Ruth, children Sara Kohls and husband Jonathan Tobias of South Yarmouth, MA, and Mark Kohls and wife Erin of Merrimack, New Hampshire, grandchild, Henry Vincent, and sisters, Phyllis Boyee, Mary Ann Linton, and Marti Ellerbrock.

Tom loved spending time outdoors and giving back to his community. A former BSA Scoutmaster with Acton Troop 284, he enjoyed camping, hiking, and leading bike trips. He was very active with the Acton Congregational Church as a Church Trustee and member of the Men’s Group. In his free time, he enjoyed visiting National Parks, playing softball, and going for long bike rides.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at the Acton Congregational Church, 12 Concord Road, Acton, MA, on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow.

Tom was an organ donor. He was able to help 2 other people immediately with his kidneys, and will help all of us with organs donated to research. This living memorial is an immense comfort.
