Obituary for Edmund A. Gianetto

Edmund A. Gianetto, 81, an Acton, MA resident for over 30 years, died at Emerson Hospital in Concord on Monday, November 11, 2019. He is survived by his wife Barbara A. (Fagundes) Gianetto and his son John T. Gianetto, both of Acton along with his many other relatives and close friends.

He was born and raised in New Bedford, MA, the son of the late Antonio and Anna Evelyn (Carter) Gianetto. Edmund was a graduate of Coyle-Cassidy High School in Taunton and later earned an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1963. For many years Edmund traveled extensively throughout the US as an electrical engineer for Digital Equipment Corporation. Most recently he was employed with Case Collaborative of Concord, transporting students with developmental disabilities and autism to local schools.

Edmund kept himself busy, whether working or enjoying his many interests and hobbies. He served on the Nashoba Sportsman’s Club Board of Directors and always enjoyed a day on the links playing a round of golf with friends at Stow Acres Country Club in Stow and other local golf courses. An avid fresh water fisherman, he frequented many local spots and especially looked forward to trips to Lake Champlain. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and loyal friend by all who loved and knew him.

Relatives and friends may visit the family on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 3 to 5pm. at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue, (Rt. 111), Acton, MA. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
