Obituary for Helen E. Pyrro (Christofferson)
Helen E. (Christofferson) Pyrro, 91, formerly a long time Acton, MA resident, passed peacefully on November 9, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late William R. Pyrro, to whom she was married for 67 years at the time of his passing in 2013.
The daughter of the late Edwin H. and Gladys A. (Hansen) Christofferson, she was born in Concord, MA, grew up on the family farm in South Acton and was a member of the South Acton Congregational Church. A graduate of Acton High School, she completed courses and certification for hairstyling and operated her own shop, The Village Stylist in West Acton, for about 10 years. The Pyrros raised their sons in Acton, then moved to Westfield in 1972. They retired to Fitzwilliam, NH in 1998, where they were very active in the Fitzwilliam Community Church. Mrs. Pyrro enjoyed golfing, needlepoint and tole painting.
Predeceased by her sisters, Jacklyn, Mildred, and Margie. She is survived by her sons Wayne Pyrro and wife Nancy of Littleton, and Randall Pyrro and wife Cathy of West Springfield; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister Sandra L. Taylor of Acton.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday November 23rd from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. with the funeral service following at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, 104 Concord Road, Acton Center.
