Carol Mary (Larsen) Dargin, 90, long time resident of Acton, MA died on Monday, July 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at Care One in Lexington, MA. She was predeceased by her husband John T. Dargin Sr. in 1986.
Carol was born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late George R. and Rose C. (Fox) Larsen. She was raised in East Orange, NJ where she attended local schools and enjoyed her younger years. Following her marriage to John they spent time in several locations until settling in Acton in 1957. She took great pride in the raising of her children and caring for their home. She was a member of St. Bridget’s Parish in Maynard, MA.
She leaves her children, Mary Ann Bassett of Maynard, MA, Rosemary Durham of Providence, RI, John T. Dargin II and his wife Cynthia of Fitchburg, MA, Kathleen Emberley and her husband Thomas of Littleton, MA, Patricia Padilla and her husband Javier of San Antonio, TX, Christopher Dargin and his wife Pamela of Acton, MA and was predeceased by her son, Michael J. Dargin. She also leaves her 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; her sister, Gloria Kooiman of Florida along with many other relatives.
Carol enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching the long time game show Jeopardy in her spare time. She always looked forward to a nice day of shopping but most of all loved spending time with family, especially later with all her grandchildren. She lived a rewarding long life full of wonderful memories for all who loved and knew her to cherish.
Visiting hours are Friday, August 2, 2019 from 8:30 to 9:30 am at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. A funeral Mass will follow on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 10am in St. Bridget’s Church, 1 Percival St., Maynard. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Concord Road, Acton.
