Obituary for Donald A. Bibbo, Sr.

Donald A. Bibbo, Sr., 83, of Maynard and a native of Newton, died peacefully Saturday June 15, 2019 at home. He is survived by his beloved wife Joanne M. (Presti) Bibbo, to whom he was married for 60 years; their three children, Donald Bibbo, Jr and wife Sandy, David Bibbo and wife Gabriela, and Jodiann Iannelli; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his siblings, he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary C. (Brabson) Bibbo. He served honorably in the US Army, and Mr. and Mrs. Bibbo were married in 1959. He began his career of 38 years with Raytheon the same year, retiring from his position as a printing production manager almost 25 years ago.

Outgoing and personable, Mr. Bibbo loved to get out of the house and do things. He and his wife especially loved to travel, and visited all 50 states and many foreign countries. He enjoyed golfing at the Maynard Country Club and Butternut Golf Farm in Stow, where he also worked part-time. He loved to drive and like to do deliveries, some out of state for D & D Farms in Stow. He will be deeply missed by his family, his many friends, and the greater community where he was such a positive and guiding influence for many.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting on Wednesday June 19th from 4-8pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday June 20th at 10am in St. Bridget's Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, 254 Great Road (Rte 117 entrance) Maynard.
