Obituary for John F. "Jack" Zettler

John Francis Zettler, affectionately known as "Jack," died peacefully at his Stow home June 15, 2019. He was 84. He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Doe) Zettler; children and their families: Christine Dresselhaus, husband Rick and their children Joe, Erica, Carly and Lauren; Elizabeth Carol Zettler and husband Lou Carbone; Michael Zettler, wife Susan and their son Maxwell; Barbara Wright and her children Hannah and Zachary; Laura Zettler, husband Conor O’Loughlin and their children Eliza and Finn; former wife Anne Zettler; and a large extended family. He was predeceased by sons Todd A. Zettler and John A. Roche, a sister Mary Lou Weber and a brother Edward Zettler.

Some of Jack’s interests and passions included engineering, reading, learning, teaching, poetry, astronomy, physics, hiking, skiing, and sailing, but above all else he loved his family most. Jack was cherished by his large family and his many friends. He will be missed terribly by us all.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family Tuesday June 18th from 4:00-7:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The memorial service will be held Sunday June 30th at 3:00P.M. at the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton, 353 Great Road (Rte 117 on the Common) in Stow.
