Obituary

Acton, MA

William John Mustoe, 87, a longtime resident of Acton, MA, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning May 25, 2019 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA.

William was the beloved husband of 55 years to the late Helene Anne (Bridges) Mustoe who passed away in 2009. He is survived by his four children, Linda Mustoe of Acton, MA, Ruth Sessions and husband Peter of Hudson, NH, William Mustoe II of Acton, MA and Bonny Liles of Shirley, MA. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Ryan Whitten, Eric Liles, Kelsey Liles; his two great grandchildren, Daniel and Mike Pucci along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the Benjamin Mustoe and Doris O’Brien.

William was born in Waltham, MA, son of the late Roland and Hanora (Read) Mustoe. He was raised in Newton, MA where he attended local schools and was a 1950 graduate of Newton H.S. Following high school he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954 as a proud Korean War Veteran. William continued his education following his service in the Army and attended Northeastern University in Boston. He began a long career as an electrical engineer with Accumetrics in Cambridge, MA and later retired from May-Com in Burlington, MA. He has been a resident of Acton, MA for the past 47 years.

He was a man with many hobbies but perhaps his favorite past time was tinkering around the house and working on different projects he enjoyed. He enjoyed traveling and along with his wife Helene had the opportunity to visit many worldwide locations including Alaska, Norway, Sweden and England. Throughout his life he always looked forward to visiting Nova Scotia, Canada. He cherished spending time with his family and especially later with his grandchildren. He was a man of conviction, devotion and respect to all who loved and knew him.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Ave., (Rt. 111), Acton, MA. All are encouraged to join the family at 11:00 a.m. for a graveside service on Thursday, May 30, 2019 in Woodlawn Cemetery, Concord Road, Acton, MA

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William may be made to: American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.
May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7) May the hope of a resurrection right here on a restored earth bring you comfort. (John 5:28, 29) Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life) Psalm 37:11, 29) But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.

My deepest sympathy
