Obituary for Margaret A. "Peggy" (Daly) Dahill

Margaret A. “Peggy” (Daly) Dahill, 84, a longtime resident of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2019 with her loving daughter and family members at her side. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Joseph F. Dahill.

Margaret was born and raised in Belmont, daughter of the late James and Bridget (Shanahan) Daly. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Belmont High School. She later received her Associate’s Degree from Chandler School for Women in Boston, MA. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant for Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. of Marlboro, MA until her retirement. She resided in Hudson from 1980 to 2015 prior to moving to Concord, MA for a short time. She was a longtime member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson, MA.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth A. “Lisa” Dahill of Maynard, MA and her partner Joe Monju of Arlington, MA; her loving nieces and nephews, Jay Byrne of Sharon, MA, Diane Rohr of Hudson, MA, Cindy Byrne of Easton, MA, Maureen Riley of Hull, MA, Patty Boyle of Stow, MA, Peggy McDonald of Watertown, MA, Bill Riley of Charlestown, MA, Jimmy Riley of Newton, MA along with her many friends. She was the sister of the late Eleanor Daly, Mary Byrne and Catherine “Kitty” Riley and is survived by her brother-in-law Billy Riley of Waban, MA.

Margaret, or “Peggy” as she was fondly called by family and friends was a devoted wife and mother and loyal friend with a great sense of humor. She truly cherished spending time with her family and always looked forward to socializing with friends. She especially grew very fond of her friends at Concord Park Senior Living in Concord, MA the past few years. In her spare time Peggy looked forward to reading and listening to Irish music. A kind women with a giving spirit are memories she leaves behind to all who loved and knew her.


Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Ave., (Rt. 111), Acton, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 at 9:00am in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson, MA.
