Obituary for Joan T. Derie
Joan T. Derie, 64, formerly of Maynard, MA died Friday January 4, 2019 in Newburyport, MA.
Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Albert J. and Mary R. (McGilvary) Derie. She participated in a day-hab program and for a time had a job with Opportunity Works in Newburyport, the town where she resided for several years. She enjoyed outings with family, friends and care-givers and loved time spent relaxing in her recliner at her home.
She is survived by her sister Christine M. Thorp and husband Tom of Maynard; a brother Stephen Derie and wife Carol of Dunbarton, NH; a niece Jennifer Luce of Hudson, MA and a nephew Robert Thorp of Leominster; as well as several cousins and extended family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Saturday January 12th at 10:00am in Glenwood Cemetery, 254 Great Road (Rte 117) Maynard.
