Obituary for John Robert "Bob" Bergquist
John Robert “Bob” Bergquist, 84, passed away with family by his side on Monday, December 31, 2018 at his home in Acton. He is the beloved husband of the late Alice E. (Adler) Bergquist who predeceased him in 2007 after 51 years of marriage.
He is survived by 4 children, J. David Bergquist and wife Kate of Temple, NH; Tina Goss and husband Bobby of Shirley; Lisa Palmer and husband Tack of Acton; Eric Bergquist and wife Julie of Ayer; a brother Paul Bergquist of Chatham; 5 grandchildren, Brandon Goss, Colleen Michel and husband Eric, Kaitlin Goss, Charles Goss, Kelsey Palmer and 1 great grandson, Erickson Michel.
Born on June 15, 1934 in Brighton, son of the late John Walter and Brita Maria (Blomdahl) Bergquist, he was raised and educated in Waltham, is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology and has been a resident of Acton for 60 years. Bob was a builder and cabinet maker and the former owners of Wood Stove Shop & Mill which he operated from 1977 until 1987. A Master Mason for 60 years he was a member of Corinthian Lodge in Concord. Bob enjoyed fishing, canoeing, hunting and a good cup of coffee.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave., Acton, MA. A graveside funeral service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, 104 Concord Rd., Acton Center on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00am.
