CHELMSFORD: Jane A. (Luoma) Darling, 82, a Chelmsford, MA resident for 51 years, died Sunday November 18, 2018 in Acton, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Darling, to whom she was married for 58 years at the time of his passing on March 24, 2015.

Born in Wadena and raised in Sebeka, MN, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Hilja (Roiko) Luoma. She met her husband, Bob, after a church service in Sebeka while he was serving in the US Air Force. After their marriage they lived in Wilmington, MA for a time before settling in Chelmsford. The couple loved square dancing with the Alpine Squares, spending time with family and friends, and were longtime active members of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Acton. Mrs. Darling enjoyed crosswords, puzzles, quilting and sewing. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by 6 children: Daniel Darling and wife Judith of Wilmington, Dean Darling and wife Carol of Charlestown, RI, Donald Darling and wife Wendy of Montgomery, AL, Dorothy Hatzikonstantis and husband Steve of Tewksbury, Dwayne Darling and wife Emily of Chester, NH and Douglas Darling of Ashby; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Friday November 23rd from 4:00-8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral service will be held Saturday November 24th at 10:0am in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 472 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton, with burial following in Heart Pond Cemetery, Chelmsford.
