Sandra (Huse) Masson, 78, of Westford, MA, formerly long time resident of Acton, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

Sandra leaves her husband Conrad, her son, Scott Masson his wife Shelly of Vermont and daughter Debbi Harte and husband Tom of Virginia. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Rylee and Logan Masson, Joey, Nicky and Tyler Harte; her brother, Donald Huse of Long Island, NY.

Sandra was born in Needham, MA a graduate of Needham High, class of 58 and received an Associated Degree at Lasell College. She was daughter of the late Lester and Ivy (Warren) Huse.

She was the membership manager for the Purchasing Management Association of Boston until retirement in 2002. In addition to membership she helped organized the annual meetings held at such places as the Museum of Science, Boston Art Museum, the Kennedy Library, the Aquarium as well As many monthly seminars.

Sandra had been an active member of the Acton Congregational Church where she served in many capacities heading committees, organized craft fairs, antique shows and numerous other events. She was active in compiling information on the history of the church. She was a Stephen minister, chair of personnel committee, Moderator for congregational meetings. She was a member of the one voice choir as well as bell choir. She designed and printed many pages in the churches memorial album.

She served as the 15th President of the Acton / Stow League of Women Voters. It was an active time with MA proposition 2½ referendums. The League sponsored a town warrant article that changed the water Districts elections to coincide with those of the town. There were improvements to fundraising, distribution of League information, monthly meetings with speakers and “rap” sessions at the president’s home.

She was an accomplished seamstress making all of her own clothes during most of her younger years including her own wedding dress. She loved recipes. Collecting piles of torn pages and books. A good cook, she was able to turn many of those recipes into memorable meals for family and friends. Gardening both flower and vegetables gave her joy. Reading books was a passion. When hard covers went out of fashion she downloaded all the free books the memory in her Kindle would hold. Making jewelry was fun, paper crafting, making greeting cards was opportunity to be creative. She loved playing games and especially looked forward to her weekly rounds of Mahjong.

She truly cherished family. Her role as mother and grandmother was paramount to her life. Always there for her children, she was a Den Mother for Scott and Girl Scout Leader for Debbi. Holidays where always important times and always took months of preparation. Using her organizational skills she planned many summer camping trips for the family. Once the family expanded, the vacations moved to a rented a house on Lake Champlain where all could stay and play every summer. Facetimes with her children and grandchildren closed the distance where she could keep up with all the current events.

Sandy will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Truly a great mother, grandmother, wife and friend. There is comfort in knowing she is now at peace and will live on in so many hearts.
