Print
Robert “Bob” Norman Ey, 95, of Boxborough, formerly of Maynard and Acton, MA and Beverly Hills, FL, passed away peacefully on Mon. Oct. 29, 2018 with his loving family by his side at Life Care Center of Acton.
Bob was predeceased by his wife of over 70 years, Mary J. (Murphy) Ey in 2015 and leaves his two daughters, Mary Cobleigh and Helen Argento, wife of the late Thomas Argento. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Deborah Wojcicki and husband Mark, Cheryl Knight, Kimberly Prehl and husband Christopher, T.J. Argento III and wife Karen along with his great grandchildren, Krista and Cory Prehl and Thomas VI and Nicholas Argento. He was the brother of the late George Ey.

He was born in Fitchburg, MA, son of the late Gustave and Helen (Boehm) Ey. He was raised in Maynard where he attended local schools. Following High School he joined the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Tuscaloosa and was a WWII Veteran. He was honorably discharged in 1943. He spent many years working at Airco/Lynde Gases as a plant and shift supervisor until his retirement.

Bob had many interests and hobbies throughout his life. In his younger years he worked at a small airport and developed a passion for repairing and also piloting small aircraft. His love of flying remained a passion later in life as he would fly all over the world with the assistance of advanced flight computer simulators. He was an avid music lover and enjoyed playing guitar, fiddle, zither and his most favorite treasured instrument, the organ. He was a true “tinkerer” and could fix most anything. Electronics was his favorite and he excelled at repairing older model tubed television sets. He will fondly be remembered by all who loved and knew him as a kind and gentle soul and will truly be missed.
