Obituary for Carol D. Overgaard (Adams)

Print
On October 7th, 2018, Carol Dee (Adams) Overgaard, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 80. Carol was born and raised in California by her parents David Adams and Ethel Blomquist Adams. She moved to Louisiana in the early 1960s with her then-husband, Neil A. Overgaard. She came to love the state and it’s vibrant music and culture, residing there for more than fifty years before moving to Massachusetts to live with her daughter. She raised three children, Trina, Christian, and the late Cara (formerly known as Craig). She enjoyed many years with her late best friend, Joy Gill. Carol had a loving, generous heart, and became “Nana” to the children and grandchildren of her own family and that of Ms. Gill. Carol was retired from Rapides Regional Medical Center, where she was employed as a medical transcriptionist for a number of years.

Survivors include son Christian Overgaard, daughter Trina and son-in-law Michael Toups, and grandchildren Sarah, Samuel and Rachel Toups; Eric Overgaard and wife Karen with Noah, Cheyenne, and Tucker; Jasmine Overgaard and Josh Newhouse with son Preston; and daughter-in-law Charlotte McDaniel. Daughters and granddaughters of the heart: Donna Gill Madden, Sheryl Gill, Kelly Strozier, Jessica Cole Soderlund, Brandy Tanner, Stacy Williamson and Jamie Ann Iley, and their children and grandchildren.
