Born in Boston on February 26, 1947 to the late Frank V. and Thelma (Malatesta) Bonzagni, he was raised in Arlington, attended Arlington Public Schools, did his undergraduate studies in electrical engineering at Tufts University and received his MBA from Boston University.

Richard served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. He was a retired technology marketing and sales professional who later in life taught middle-school children who struggled with math. He enjoyed singing with The Sounds of Concord, the Concord Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, as well as playing the guitar.

Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Marshall and her husband Charles of San Francisco, CA and Lauren Tajima and her husband Aaron of Westford; his sister Gail Marmer of Concord; and five grandchildren, Dominic and Noemi Marshall, Grant, Simon and Audrey Tajima.
