Richard J. Cunningham, 28, a lifelong resident of Littleton, MA, died unexpectedly on July 24, 2018.

He leaves his loving parents, Jeffrey L. and Susan M. (DesJardins) Cunningham of Littleton, MA; his loyal brother Jason T. Cunningham of Littleton, MA and his soulmate and best friend Samantha “Sam” Heighes of Littleton, MA. He is also survived by his uncle, Steven DesJardins and wife Kathy of Chelmsford, MA; his aunt, Donna Hoffman and husband William of Florida; his aunt Pamela DesJardins of New Hampshire; his cousins, Inga Morin of Ashburnham, MA and Rory DesJardins of New Hampshire along with his close friends. He was the nephew of the late David DesJardins.

Richard was born in Concord, MA and raised in Littleton, MA where he attended local schools. He was a 2008 graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical H.S. in Westford, MA and was a self-employed automotive technician specializing in repairing heavy equipment.

Richard was well respected for his hard work and expertise in his field as a technician. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting with his Dad or a day of water skiing or snowboarding. He truly cherished spending time with his family and most recently with his devoted Sam. His life was short but full of kindness and a giving spirit. He will truly be missed by all who loved and knew him, especially by his loyal cat “Mister” whom Richard nurtured and cared for since he was found as a stray as a kitten.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, August 4th from 2:00-4:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. Interment is private at a later date.
