Ruth (Furbush) Tyler  Cyr
Boxborough – Ruth (Furbush) Tyler Cyr, age 99, wife of the late Gale S. Tyler and Albert J. Cyr, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Apple Valley Center in Ayer, MA.

She was born in Concord, MA on April 27, 1919, the daughter of the late Arthur H. and Edith A. (Withington) Furbush.

Ruth was married to Gale S. Tyler on June 1, 1937 settling in Leominster and celebrated 50 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of the late Roy R. Tyler and his wife Diane (Wetmore) and the late Emmet B. Tyler and his late wife Doris (Nolfi); grandmother of Debra, Tamela, Anthony, Catherine, Ricky “Clem” Tyler; great-grandmother of Sarah, Andrew, Jacob, Sam, Todd, Jonathan and Kevin; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Eleanor F. Smith of Boxborough and Marcia F. Hopkins of Plymouth, ME, and was predeceased by her brother, Albert H. Furbush.

Later in life on April 14, 1990, she married Albert J. Cyr of Orlando, FL. Married for 16 months, Ruth moved back to Boxborough on April 1, 1996. Ruth was a member of Rebekahs Assembly for several years and Grange for 85 years.

The family will welcome visitors at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rte 111), Acton on Friday, June 22nd from 10:00 to 11:00am, followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00am with burial following in South Cemetery, Burroughs Rd., Boxborough. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruth F. Cyr may be made to United Church of Christ Boxborough, 723 Massachusetts Ave., Boxborough, MA 01719.
