Obituary for Floyd H. Lippa M.D.

Floyd H. Lippa M.D., 81, of Stow, MA, formerly of Grosse Ile, MI and Dearborn, MI, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA. He leaves his loving wife of 56 years, Pamela A. (Ploeger) Lippa.

Floyd was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, son of the late Sidney and Mary (Dubner) Lippa. He received his Medical Degree from SUNY in New York and later did his surgical training at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving with the U.S. Army 71st EVAC Hospital unit until being honorably discharged as a Major in 1969. Following his military service he began his medical practice as a surgeon in Dearborn, MI operating his own medical office and as a member of the Oakwood Hospital staff in Dearborn, MI. He spent many years in Dearborn, MI eventually residing in Grosse Ile, MI. Floyd and his wife Pamela have resided in Stow, MA the past 9 years to be close to their family.

Besides his wife, Floyd is survived by his son, Dr. Blaise Lippa and wife Nicole of Concord, MA; his grandchildren, Kenzie, Jackson and Noah Lippa of Concord, MA and his two brothers, Allan Lippa and wife Barbara of Northville, MI and Andrew Klemm and husband Mike of Buffalo, NY. He also leaves a close friend and cousin of he and Pamela, Marilyn Clauder and husband Hershel of Surprise, AZ along with other relatives and friends.

Floyd always enjoyed and was proud of his career in the medical field. He liked to read in his spare time and spending a day sailing was always special to him. He also looked forward to playing tennis and snow skiing whenever he had the chance. Most of all Floyd truly cherished his family. He always looked forward to spending time with them, especially later with his three loving grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Visitation at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave. (Rte 111) Acton, MA will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial service and celebration of Floyd’s life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 472 Massachusetts Ave., Acton. Relatives and friends are also encouraged to attend a memorial service on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Lester H. Wedekindt Funeral Home, Inc., 3290 Delaware Ave., Kenmore, NY. Interment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Mt.
