Condolences

Condolence From: Martin Segal
Condolence: To Barbara's family:

I cannot remember how many years Barbara and I worked together as proofreaders at the local newspaper chain. We shared cubicles.

I had a tendency to rush and to get excited during "go to press" days and Barbara always worked at a steady pace which helped me a lot to simmer down.

We had great talks during "down" times about our families which were entirely different. She gave me most welcome good quiet advice. I can hear her voice in my head. If not for her I'm sure I would have gotten into hot water more often.

Sorry that I didn't visit her at home more often. I appreciate Andrea's calling me to tell me what had happened. I felt the warmth of all the children and the goodness they had inherited from her during the funeral service.

So I send all of you my best regards and know that if you remember her in times of strife you will be strengthened and compassionate.

Condolence: I am so sorry we missed the announcement until today. We hadn't seen Barbara in years but when the children were in high school we saw her often. She was the loveliest, kindest lady. I always loved talking to her...it was always interesting. She left a soft and caring mark on the world. Everyone will miss her. (Our love to Andrea.)

Condolence: I met your mother at the women's group at South Acton Congregational Church and I remember her quiet and insightful sharing. More recently I have visited her in her home, enjoying her positive ways and the many varied birds that visited the bird feeders outside her window. We both had sons named Dan and we share updates about them as they moved forward in their lives. I am sad that she passed before i was able to visit her in hospice. I know she treasured having several of her children close enough for help.

Condolence: Walsh Family: I want to send my prayers out to you all, I will always have fond memories of your Mom while growing up. She was much more tolerant of our misbehavior than most. I'll always remember her as a quiet but strong and understanding woman. Cherish the memories as I do of our Mom.
