Sudbury, MA: Daniel Massa J. Sawyer, 25, of Sudbury, MA passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018. He leaves his loving parents Robert and Michelle (Massa) Sawyer of Sudbury; his fiancé Krissy Mikoski of Maynard, MA and his paternal grandmother, Sylvia Sawyer of Maynard. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Robert Sawyer, his maternal grandparents Michael and Theresa Massa and his aunt, Angela DeRosa. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Sawyer and wife Tina along with their children, Dan’s adoring nieces and nephews, Amber, Laila, Dean and Derrin Sawyer, all of Maynard, his step-brother Jonathan Sawyer; aunt Mary Barbagallo and husband Ed of Maynard; uncle Louis Massa and wife Lorie of Sterling, MA and many cousins and friends.

Daniel’s life was short but the memories of a kind, thoughtful and loving man are long. Born in Concord, MA and raised in Sudbury, he attended local schools and was a 2010 graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School where he was a member of the ice hockey team and served as a Captain his senior year. He later attended New England Institute of Technology studying construction management.

Daniel was currently the full-time property manager of the Pompostitticut Farm Day Camp in Hudson, MA. He truly loved working with Jackie and the wonderful staff and took immense pride in the beautiful farm property and programs. In addition to his property management role, in the Summer of 2017 Daniel became the Director of the Early Birds Program, sharing his passion for farming animal care and gardening for a healthy lifestyle with the children in the program. He was respected and loved by the campers and their parents, staff, and neighbors of the farm. Daniel was an inspiration to the teen leaders, always displaying the work ethic that our youth need to witness.

Daniel was an avid NASCAR fan and always looked forward to attending the “Ice Breaker” with family and friends at Thompson Speedway in Connecticut. He was devoted to his family and friends, often cooking and preparing many delicious dishes as a special treat for all. Sharing special moments, especially with his nieces and nephews, brought great joy into his life.
Daniel will be more than missed by all who knew and loved him, including family, his companion and loyal dog Jetta, the Pompostitticut Farm community and his dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday March 30th from 4:00-8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rt 111) Acton. A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday March 31st at 10:00am in St. Bridget’s Church, 1 Percival St., Maynard, with burial following in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Great Road (Rt 117) Maynard.
