Obituary for Mary Ann "Maura" (Healy) Sweeney

Mary Ann "Maura" (Healy)  Sweeney
Mary Ann “Maura” (Healy) Sweeney (84) of Acton, Massachusetts, passed peacefully in her home on March 19th, 2018. She was born in Sallypark, Waterford City, Ireland to George and Elizabeth Healy and split her adult life between Galway, Ireland and Acton, Massachusetts. Maura was a loyal, giving and loving friend, wife, mother and grandmother. Maura’s kindness was easily known by all who crossed her path. She served tea to most anyone who entered her home, friends and strangers, alike, and lived a life of making connection.

She is survived by Patrick, husband of 59 years, children, Fiona (Patrick) Bennett of Dublin, Ireland, Ronan Sweeney, of Acton, Massachusetts, Sinead (Ciaran) Wynne of Galway, Ireland, and Ruairi (Anna) Sweeney of Maynard, Massachusetts. Also survived by grandchildren, Sophie, Evan, Molly, Sorcha and Alex, and nieces and nephews, all who live in Ireland.

Visiting hours are Friday March 23rd from 4:00-8:00pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. Funeral Mass Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 10am in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 89 Arlington St., Acton. Services will also be held at a later date in Ireland.
