Shirley, MA
Christopher L. Gonsalves, 47, of Shirley, MA, formerly of Groton and Avon, MA, died on March 5th at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Christopher was born in Brockton, son of Dennis Gonsalves of Warren, NH and the late Phyllis (Paradis) Gonsalves. Besides his father, he leaves his wife of 3 years, Nicole M. (Johnson) Gonsalves of Shirley, MA, his two sons, Alex and Michael Gonsalves, his daughter, Aimee Gonsalves and their mother and Christopher’s former wife Andrea Vient Gonsalves. He is also survived by his two step-children, Fionn and Abigail McKenna along with many relatives and devoted friends.

Christopher was raised in Avon, MA where he attended local schools and was a 1988 graduate of Avon High School. He later attended Northeastern University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in History in 1993. He has resided in Shirley, MA for the past 3 years and was employed as a Director of Leadership Development by the Cumberland Farms Co.

Christopher’s life was shortened after battling cancer but the memory of a very vibrant, energetic, witty and loyal individual will be cherished by all who loved and knew him. He enjoyed the summer months at local beaches with family and friends. His witty humor entertained all who surrounded him. His passion was his family, especially with his children and step-children as he was always so lovingly involved in all aspects of their lives. He will surely be missed but never forgotten.


The Celebration of Life Service for Chris will be held Friday March 16th, 2018 at 11am in Harvard, MA at the Harvard Unitarian Universalist Church- 9 Ayer Road. This will be followed by a reception at 12:30pm in Groton, MA at Gibbet Hill Grill- 61 Lowell Road. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Chris Gonsalves may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in support of the Cancer Outcomes Research Program and Early Detection.
