Obituary for Anthony A. Faranda

Anthony A. "Tony" Faranda, 93, of Marlborough, MA, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Marlborough.

Born and raised in New York City, he was the son of the late Albert and Pauline Faranda. A graduate of the Franklin School of Art and Design in Brooklyn, NY, he was employed as photographer and mechanical engineer for commercial and government systems.

Mr. Faranda served honorably with the US Army Air Corps with the 8th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron in the South Pacific Theatre. A lifelong aviation enthusiast, he was a private pilot and enjoyed model airplanes. He was also a pianist and had a lifelong passion for photography, art and music. He was a former resident of Venice, FL, New Canaan, CT. and West Hemstead, NY.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Faranda was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lucille Faranda, his daughter Jean (Faranda) Ernst, and a brother Hercules Faranda. He is survived by his son, Robert Faranda and his wife Diana of Boxborough, MA; grandchildren Lisa Faranda of NY, NY, Stephanie Faranda of Boxborough, Ethan Ernst of San Diego, CA., Isabelle Ernst of Ormond, FL; and nieces, nephews and their families.
