Obituary for Joseph Robert "Bob" Forsyth Sr.
Joseph Robert “Bob” Forsyth Sr., 87, of Maynard died on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Bernier) Forsyth for 56 years.
Born and raised in Sudbury, MA he was the son of the late Austin and Rosa Forsyth. He has resided in Maynard most of his life. He was a member of St. Bridget’s Parish.
He is survived by his children, David Forsyth; Joseph Forsyth Jr. and Rosemary Barese. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren, Joseph Forsyth III, Cynthia Pratt,2 great grandchildren Brayden and Hayley, his brother, Patrick Forsyth and wife Ann, his sister, Irene Bowse along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 8 siblings.
Bob, or “Turkey Bob” to all his AA friends proudly spent 40 years of sobriety. In his spare time he played the harmonica and shared jokes with his family and friends. He truly enjoyed boating as a hobby. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bridget’s Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road (Rt 117) Maynard. Memorial page www.actonfuneralhome.com
