Helen D. (Wrzosek) Phaneuf, 99, of Leominster, MA and a former longtime Maynard, MA resident, died suddenly Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the UMass Medical Healthcare Clinton Hospital. The widow of Eugene Phaneuf, she is survived by their two children, Lisa Phaneuf and partner Brenda Desjean, and Jeffrey Phaneuf and wife Janice; two grandchildren, Jake and Janelle Phaneuf; and extended family including nieces, nephews, in-laws and their families.

Born in New Haven, CT, Helen was the daughter of the late John and Daisy (Urban) Wrzosek, and was predeceased by her two sisters, Blanche and Stella. She and her husband Eugene were married April 19, 1947 in St. Casimir's Church in Maynard. A hairdresser, Helen was a former volunteer at the Emerson Hospital in Concord and the Leominster Hospital in Leominster. For many years she enjoyed time spent at her place at the beach in Ipswich.

According to Helen's wishes, following cremation private burial will be in the family lot in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Maynard. There will be no visiting hours.
