Obituary for Nancy (Beford) Emery

Nancy (Beford)  Emery
Nancy (Beford) Emery, 79, of Maynard, MA and a former Littleton, MA resident, passed away Thursday September 28, 2017 at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester surrounded by her family. Born in Holden, MA on March 27, 1938, she was the youngest child of the late Joseph E. and Ethel I. (Leonard) Beford. Nancy was a graduate of Maynard High School and was retired from Digital Equipment Corporation. She raised her family in Littleton then moved to Maynard.

Nancy enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren live happy lives, bringing her great joy. She was always supportive with an encouraging word and a smile. Nancy really enjoyed good food and socializing with family and friends, talking and laughing. She made fast friends everywhere she went. Talking to her was so easy.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Claire Flaherty and Shirley King, and brothers Joseph R. and Lenny Beford.

She is survived by three children, Donna M. MacCallum and her husband John of Royalston, MA, Shaun M. Thompson and his wife Kim of Littleton, MA and Kevin S. Thompson and his wife Michele of Littleton, Colorado; 5 grandchildren, Shane Thompson of Tennessee, Kara Thompson Kittle of Florida, Julie Bjerre Thompson of Copenhagen, Denmark and Lauren and Jack Thompson of Littleton, Colorado; also two grandpups Blue and Betty of Royalston, MA, a sister Evelyn Kane of Maynard; sister-in-law Helen Beford of Falmouth, MA; and also many nieces, nephews, friends and all their families.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 13th, 2017 at 11:00am in St. Bridget's Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard, with burial following in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Great Road (Rt 117) Maynard. Memorial page www.actonfuneralhome.com
