Condolence: Tony, Trish and Georgia, at this time when you, my beloved family, are dealing with such terrible loss and pain, it is hard not to think about how to ease your suffering. I know that time will heal as you, along with other family members, learn to cope with the passing of Thomas. However, I notice at such terrible times of loss, I'm always forced to reflect. Over the last few weeks, Thomas has made me stop and reflect and to personally consider what I am grateful for. I wanted to share this with you in the hope that somehow, and at some level, this will help to ease some suffering. At such a time of sadness and pain, Thomas has reminded me that it is important for me to consider what I can be grateful for. He has reminded me that I should try to always be grateful for no matter how long I live, life will always be too short. He has also reminded me that I should be grateful for those I have loved and those I can love. On this day, when I cannot be with you, I thought it would be important to say thanks to Thomas for reminding me of all this. As my family, I am grateful for you, Tony and Trish, for what you have created together and have yet to create. I am grateful for Georgia, for all that she is and has yet to become. I am also very grateful for Thomas, for all he was and for all he gave to this world. Thomas has also has also reminded me how important it is for friends and family to be grateful for each other, as it is this collective bond that makes us and keeps us strong. It can give us hope, it can guide us through darkness and it can help to ease the pain that we will all be experiencing due to the loss of one of our own.
