Obituary for Mary J. (Murphy) Ey

Mary J. (Murphy) Ey, 93, of Boxborough, died peacefully Friday, July 3, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 72 years of Robert N. Ey.

Born at home in Acton, she was one of seven children of the late William and Mary (Heffernan) Murphy. Mrs. Ey centered her life around her home and family. She was an excellent seamstress and upholsterer, and she enjoyed making her own clothes and cooking. Very artistic, she loved painting and ceramics and had her own kiln for classes and projects. The Eys lived in Maynard, Acton and Concord for many years before retiring to Florida, where they resided for over 20 years. They moved to Boxborough 7 years ago to be close to their family.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ey is survived by their two daughters, Mary Anne Cobleigh and Helen Argento, both of Boxborough; a brother James Murphy of Newton; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her siblings, Nora, Tommy, Bill, Kay and Rita.

Services are private. Those who wish may make memorial gifts in Mrs. Ey's name to the Nashoba Nursing Service & Hospice, Two Shaker Road, Suite D225, Shirley, MA 01464.
