Obituary for James H. "Jim" Erikson

James H. "Jim" Erikson
James H. Erikson, 76, of Acton, died unexpectedly Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Emerson Hospital in Concord. Born in Concord, he was the son of the late Henry and Mildred L. (Haskell) Erikson. Mr. Erikson lived in Stow for a time then moved with his family to Acton in 1944. A graduate of Acton High School, he owned and operated a sand and gravel hauling business, and worked for a time at Erikson's Grain Mill, the family business in South Acton. He especially enjoyed long distance horseback riding on trails of 20 to 50 miles, mostly in New Hampshire but also in Maine and Massachusetts.

He is survived by two brothers, John Erikson, and David Erikson and wife Elise, all of Acton; two sisters, Ruth Landry and Diane Landry, both of Boxborough; and nephews, Scott and Ryan Landry and Seth Erikson, and niece Mollie Erikson and their families.

According to Mr. Erikson's wishes, services and interment in the family lot in Brookside Cemetery, Stow, will be private. Inn appreciation of the wonderful care Mr. Erikson received, the family suggests in lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to either the Dialysis Clinic, Inc., 56 Winthrop St, Concord, MA 01742, or to the Friends of the Acton Nursing Service, Inc. PO Box 541, Acton, MA 01720.
