Donald L. Cumming
Donald L. Cumming, 87, a longtime resident of Boxborough, MA, passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He leaves his loving wife of 59 years, Jacqueline A. “Jackie” (Barry) Cumming.
Donald was born in Boston, MA on March 25, 1931 to the late John and Carrie (Fredendall) Cumming. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Air Force with the 3275th Installation Squadron before being honorably discharged. He worked as a mechanical engineer at W.R. Grace for 39 years retiring in 1995. He enjoyed hunting, vacationing in South Hampton, NY and above all spending time with his family.
A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, the memories he leaves behind will be cherished by all who loved and knew him. Besides his wife, he leaves his 3 sons, Steven Cumming and his wife Lynn, Alan Cumming and his late wife Kate, Scott Cumming and his wife Connie Strittmatter; his sister Ruth Gibbs; his brother Kenneth Cumming and his wife Nancy; his 5 grandchildren, Megan, Bryan, Justin, Benjamin and Brett. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother John Cumming.
Visiting hours will be Monday, April 2nd from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rt. 111) Acton. Funeral Service Tuesday, April 3rd at 10:00am at United Church of Christ Congregational, 723 Massachusetts Ave., Boxborough, MA 01719, followed by burial with military honors in South Cemetery, Burroughs Rd., Boxborough.
