Life Story for Marion A. (Stevens) Soroka
Marion A. (Stevens) Soroka, 93, of Leominster, MA and a former longtime Maynard, MA resident, died peacefully Friday April 7, 2017 at the UMass Memorial Leominster Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Soroka Sr.
Born and raised in Dexter, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lethia (Ellis) Stevens. Mrs. Soroka was a graduate of Dexter High School then moved to Maynard, MA in the early 1950s. Married in 1955, she was a manager at Raytheon plants in Waltham and Lowell. She retired to Exeter, Maine, then in later years lived with her family in Leominster before moving to Bolton Manor about three years ago. She was the former president of the Bangor Maine Senior Citizens and member of the Leominster Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Soroka had a talent for knitting, crocheting and doll making.
She is survived by two children, John Soroka Jr. and Karen Andersen, both of Leominster; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their families. She was the mother of the late Elaine Cuddy, Deborah Erkkinen and Clayton "Sonny" Wardwell; and sister of the late Edward Stevens and Phyllis Wardwell.
According to Mrs. Soroka's wishes, burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard, MA is private.
