Obituary for Biljana Marie Buljan (Marjanovic)

Biljana Maria Buljan of Acton lived 75 years strong. Biljana left us peacefully on a Friday, March 10, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends after a brief struggle with cancer.

Biljana was born to the Late Vojislav and Fimka Marjanovic in Belgrade, Serbia on September 16, 1941. Biljana Attended Pennsylvania State University and graduated with an MA in sociology. Biljana was married to the late Serge Tomislav Vladimir Buljan for 42 years and they love each other.

She is survived by her son Mark Vladimir Buljan of Lake Tahoe, California; daughter Vanja Maria Buljan of Acton; and Sister Sveta Marionovic of Belgrade, Serbia. Family and friends were Biljana's passion and joy. Once said of her by a dear family friend, "Biljana"s Children and their friends where her tribe" no truer words have ever been said.

Biljana was famously know for carting around her tribe in a big red or blue station wagon. From practice fields to game day, to Idylwilde Farm to Nashoba Valley Ice Rink. Usually with one passenger sitting in the middle back seat, Vanja never could sit in the front seat even when it was empty.

In her youth, she was in a Choir. She traveled the world singing her way from country to country. She came to the United States, first stop Carnegie Hall New York City taking the USA by storm. Next, Lake Tahoe, California where she sang for her supper along side the likes of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack in the once famous Indian Room of the Cal/Neva resort. Biljana was a Celebrity where ever she went. Biljana did many great things in her life, youthful adventures across the globe. Biljana collected many good friends along the way. She touched so many people in so many different ways, her laugh is something you can never forget, loud, happy and silly. To hear it would just make you smile or burst into laughter. Biljana was taken from us much to early. Biljana our MOM, your friend, would want all of us to live our life with love, laughter and kindness. Think of her fondly once in a while and smile. YOU WHERE THE GREATEST MOM Eva!! Biljana requested a private ceremony. In Lieu of Flowers the family asks you to please make a donation to the Cancer Society of America or the ASPCA in her name.
